Peggy Krizak was born and raised in Wisconsin where she discovered at an early age that she had a natural ability to draw and paint wildlife and scenery. Initially self-taught, she acquired formal education in the arts in 1993. With the encouragement and support of her husband, Steve, the dream of being a full-time artist was fulfilled.

Exhibiting in the Midwest earned numerous commissions throughout the United States. Working predominately in oils, she combines her deep love of animals with her passion for painting. She has a special talent that allows her to capture the unconditional love that radiates from a pet's eyes. This ability has captured the attention and hearts of people everywhere, and was a turning point in Peggy's career.

Peggy and her husband reside in northern Wisconsin, a tranquil setting that is ideal for producing the realistic and serene portraits of people's cherished pets. Yes, she has a lovable rescue Doberman, named "DayZ" and a Maine Coon feline, "Picasso" who thinks he's an artist and loves to assist, with the charcoal portraits. My "new kids" portraits will be coming this winter. Commissions come first.

As of this moment, Peggy is working on a Abyssinian feline portrait, from an interesting angle."LC", the feline, is looking back at herself as a kitten.  This portrait is being done posthumously, for she lost her battle with cancer in July. This will be completed soon and will be seen in the feline gallery series.

Peggy is now one of the partners and co-owner of "Gallery 135" in the Franklin Square building, downtown scenic St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. We represent over 60 artists, local and regional. A beautiful array of artwork ranging from jewelry, pottery, woodworking, bronze sculpture, metal art, paintings in oil, including portraiture of pets and people, pastels, and watercolors.
